They serve proper cocktails in this joint. I mean we use fresh lime and organic mix at home but Grand Marnier in the 210 version takes it higher. The Old Fashioned features Evanston’s finest craft distillery, Few Spirits.
Chef Peter McCarthy was classically trained at the Culinary Institute of America and learned about barbecue during his time with Sweet Baby Ray. Pete loves rock and roll and lives near the Highwood music venue. A chance to enjoy both passions so close to home couldn’t be passed. Most concert halls struggle with being stylish, casual and a place for an elevated dining experience..not the case here. Fall and Winter are peak seasons for 210. Many weeknights are a packed house with capacity near 200.
Tuna Poke, Smoked Brisket Sandwich and Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos made an appearance during our visit. The space is eclectic, intimate and an excellent choice for private events. Barbecue is the chef’s third discipline; he can create virtually any customized dish for a private gathering. Smoked Wings and the Baby Back Ribs were suggested as items that best exemplify the style he has crafted at great barbecue restaurants.
The Vibe. The Sound. The Space. The Music. 210 has it all. Not to mention 5 fresh beers on draft including one of my all time favourites Bell’s Two Hearted.
9-piece funk, soul, R&B band Victor Brown opened for the Ravines on this night. I worked in nearby Lake Forest for years. If only we could have held corporate events here. We made the cruise up from Rogers Park, Chicago. The distance was equal to us going to party with our beloved White Sox down at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Best way to describe the revamped 210 Live is that it’s the romantic restaurant and nightclub for music lovers.. and really for every walk of life.
